About Extreme Trauma
Countless words have been written about the horrors of October 7, 2023. Extreme Trauma takes a different approach.
This book confronts the brutality of that day without flinching—while also revealing what followed: extraordinary Israeli resilience, unity, and moral clarity. It is emotionally difficult to read, yet deeply motivating. The story does not end in trauma. It points toward survival, strength, and renewal.
Extreme Trauma also addresses the lies that came after October 7. It corrects false narratives and equips readers with clear, fact-based language to push back against denial, distortion, and moral inversion.
More than a book, Extreme Trauma: October 7 as an Outlier in Human Potential is a mission. Compiled by Moshe Kaplan MD and published by Israel’s Be A Mensch Foundation, it brings together leading voices to document the truth of October 7 while strengthening those facing rising antisemitism—especially students on college campuses.
Through campus distribution, study groups, and educational programming, Extreme Trauma is being placed into the hands of students, educators, and community leaders who need clarity, confidence, and courage in an increasingly hostile environment.
Our Jewish Future Initiative exists for this purpose: to ensure the next generation is not silenced, confused, or demoralized—but informed, grounded, and proud.
Knowledge. Perspective. Moral courage.
